This page is used to view and manage everything related to printing and producing cards.
Purpose
The purpose of this page is to allow an admin to print cards for persons linked to the application. You would usually use this page if you want to print cards for a person, or when you have approved a persons card request. You can also see the current status of print jobs.
This page also enables an admin to manage and add card designs.
Who can access this page
Here the concept of the node tree allows you to see and manage the nodes you have the right permissions to. If some printers or hubs are missing you do not have the right permissions. The tree structure allows you to give only one permission to a parent, and you will automatically have the same permissions to all children of that parent.
On this page there are some specific permissions related only to the action of printing. E.g. configure and print permissions.

Print Jobs are not nodes, but will have a state to show if the printing is successful or not.
Page layout
The page is split into two sections. On the left you can see the node tree, where you can find Resource Root (Not used), Card Printing Root (Card Printing), Card Printer Hubs and Card Printers. Everything except Card Printers are expandable if they have any children.
Landing Page
When you navigate to the devices page you will be greeted by the node tree to the left and an empty screen to the right. If you select any node two the left you will be greeted by one of the pages below.
Card Printing Root Selected
Permissions
When you click on Card Printing Root you will be greeted by the Permissions section, which will show you all the nodes that have permissions to Card Printing Root. In the top you will find the other sections and a button/workflow that allow you to add a new Permission.

- Add new permission to Card Printing Root.
Ready to Print
Allows you to see all card requests that have been approves by an admin. You can select one or multiple requests and a print cards workflow will appear.

- Print one or multiple cards based on approved card requests.
Ready to Activate
Allows you to activate printed cards. When card are printing they change their state to Not Activated. You will again be able to select one or multiple smart cards, which will enable the activate cards workflow.

Card Printer Hub Selected
Card Readers
When you click on a Card Printer Hub you will be greeted by the card readers section, which will show you all the card readers available to this node. In the top you will find the other sections and a button/workflow that allow you to remove the selected Hub.
Workflows
- Remove the selected hub, this is a two-step action, so no hubs will be removed by accident.
Plugins
When you click on Plugins you will be greeted by a table of all available plugins linked to this printer. These will be used when creating card designs, so no workflows are available on this section.
Card Designs
WHen you click on Card Designs you will be greeted by a table of all card designs linked to this card printer hub. You can click on any of the card designs in the list to view, remove and edit the design.

- Add a new card design to the selected hub.
Printers
This section allows you to see all printers linked to the hub. These are not clickable, to navigate to any of the printers you will have to use the node tree to the left.
Permissions
This section allows you to see all the permissions granted to this hub. These permissions are equal to the Card Printing Root, but allows for more fine tuning of what hubs a user have permissions to.

- Add a new permission to the selected Card Printer Hub.
Card Printer Selected
Details
When you click on a card printer you will be greeted by the Details section, which shows you all the details available to the card printer. This will allow you to identify wheter or not the printer is currently connected and what status it has, e.g. printing cards. In the top you will find the other sections and different workflows.
Workflows
- Configure the printer.
- Print cards for one or multiple users.
- Check for printjobs, this is used if the printer is not updating properly.
- Remove the printer, this is again a two-step action, made to not remove printers by accident.
Ready to Print
This section is the same as in the Card Printing Root. This allows you to quickly print one or all card requests that have been approved. Once atleast one is selected a workflow will appear, that allows you to print.

All Print Jobs
This section allows you to see the current status of all the print jobs linked to the selected Card Printer. The list should be live updating, this allows you to see if any prints have failed, which enabled you to either remove it or retry.
Workflows
- Remove all the printjobs currently on the selected printer
- Pause the printer, could be used if there is multiple errors or the printer is behaving unexpectedly
Common usage notes
- When nodes in ready to print change state from approved, they will no longer be visible.
- The resource root in the top of the tree is unusable, and are only there to properly view and build the tree hierarchy
- Some actions may be hidden or unusable depending on permissions, this is usually shown in a tooltip
