Grant permissions
This workflow shows how to grant permissions to a person in the system.
Purpose
The purpose of this workflow is to grant a person one or more permissions.
Granting permissions is typically done when a person needs extended access or specific capabilities.
Who can perform this workflow
This workflow is restricted, and you must have the correct permissions to complete it.
To perform this workflow, you must either: - Be a system administrator - Have the required permissions to manage permissions
Preconditions
- The person must already exist in the system
- The permission must already exist in the system
- You must have the required permissions to manage permissions

Workflow steps
There are multiple ways to grant permissions.
Method 1 – Grant permissions to a person
- Navigate to the Organization Units & Persons page
- Find the relevant person in the node tree
- Navigate to the Permissions section
- Click Add permission
- Select the relevant entity the person should have permissions for
- Select the relevant permissions (read, write, etc.)
- Confirm the action
Result
- Permissions are granted to the person
- Permissions become active according to the selected validity
- The resource reflects the updated permission state
- A notification is shown to confirm the action
